Expanding Horizons

As an Ursuline student, you'll have opportunities to experience new cultures—whether you go across the globe or across town.

We believe that cultural competency goes far beyond being taught in the classroom. Throughout your four years at UA, you'll have hands-on opportunities to interact with the world around you. These experiences are designed to cultivate respect and promote a greater understanding of people from different backgrounds, rooted in the gospel value of respect for all of God’s creation. We encourage you to be curious about the world around you and will give you the tools to succeed in our diverse and ever-changing world.

Service is ingrained into the culture at Ursuline. It is something everyone does. It makes Ursuline special and helps give students a broadened worldview. We come into contact with people that we haven't met before, we experience new things, and we form a more faith-filled perspective on all of creation. My friends and I frequently meet up on Saturdays and serve together. We don't think twice about it. It's all about making an impact on our community!”  emily w. '26

Explore Cultural Opportunities at Ursuline

There are many opportunities to experience different cultures throughout your time at Ursuline. You can host an exchange student or volunteer for a local service trip. Or, you can travel abroad or across the country on a mission trip. The choice is yours.

Peru Service Learning

Every two years, Ursuline sends a group of Spanish students to Peru as part of a cultural immersion and service-learning experience. The spring 2025 trip was packed with unforgettable moments: bonding with students at the Anccoto school in the Sacred Valley, staying with Quechua-speaking families in the Andes,  exploring the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu, and more!
