Fine Arts
The Art Department nurtures a passion for creative engagement and new discoveries, preparing students to thoughtfully respond to and participate in their world. A sequential curriculum guides the development of each student’s perceptual, technical, and expressive abilities. Courses present creative opportunities that foster the ability to think both analytically and critically. Visual principles are taught using a wide range of materials and visual formats.

The Christian Leadership Award is presented to the student in each class who demonstrates evidence of Gospel values in her personal and school community life. This award is voted on by the members of each class at the end of each academic year, and it is presented to the senior recipient at Graduation. Each year, seniors in an Ursuline art class create the medal that is awarded at Graduation, so the recipient is not only selected by her classmates, but she also receives a medal made by classmates.
