The Community Ministries Department consists of the Campus Minister, Community Service Coordinator and Director of Diversity and Inclusion. The Department works collaboratively to provide our students as well as our faculty and staff spiritual growth opportunities rooted in our mission and inspired by Gospel values. Community Ministries is one of the ways Ursuline Academy nurtures the heart, soul, intellect and imagination of each student.
Campus Ministry within the Ursuline community is a collaborative effort to create an environment permeated with Gospel values. This spirit is fostered through every activity of the school community; be it academic, athletic, social, or spiritual. All members of Ursuline Academy are invited and encouraged to discover and live an active relationship with God. We support each other in this mission by our prayers and actions so that we are enriched individually and as a learning community.
Campus Ministry Programming includes: Morning Prayer, All-School Masses & Prayer Services, Reconciliation Services, Weekly Communion Services, and a Four-Year Retreat ProgramDownload the Campus Ministry Brochure
As our School Philosophy states, “Ursuline welcomes diversity and fosters community in an atmosphere of mutual respect.” Each young woman brings her own gifts, talents and life experiences that she is then empowered to share to foster understanding. Diversity and Inclusion programs help each student to discover her gifts and passions. They help students to build a sisterhood through genuine encounter and sharing with one another. Students learn to engage in respectful dialogue with those they may perceive to be different, learning to be their best selves while bringing out the best in those with whom they work.
Programming includes: Retreats and overnight learning opportunities, conferences, Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations, Asian American Celebration, Black History Month Celebrations, Interfaith Events and cultural conversations. The Diversity & Inclusion program also supports the following student clubs and initiatives: Harmony, Hands Across Campus, Black Student Union, and Spectrum.Download the Diversity and Inclusion Brochure
Service is a core value at Ursuline Academy. We do not require our students to participate in Community Service; however, our program variety results in the vast majority of students participating in some capacity. We make it easy for students to share their gifts with others in a variety of ways and during different times throughout the week. Our entire program is led by students, resulting in natural ownership and excitement for the projects we offer.
Programming includes: Onsite service projects, offsite service projects, weekend opportunities, Days of Service, school wide collections and fundraising events, opportunities during the school day, class specific service projects, mission trips, and more.
