Application Process

Create an Admissions Account through our Admissions portal, and help us get to know you.  Our new portal is designed to make the application process easier and more convenient for families. Through the portal, you can register for admissions events, schedule a shadow day, and upload all required documents to complete your daughter’s application. Please remember that each student must have her own account, which should be created by a parent or guardian. 

Registration is open for the High School Placement Test. The exam costs $30 and is coordinated through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

The HSPT is required for all incoming freshman only. While your daughter may choose to take the HSPT at another local high school, make sure to indicate you would like her results to be shared with Ursuline Academy. 

Looking for HSPT test prep help? Check out our fall in-person courses, which are taught by Ursuline faculty members. Taking a class is a great way to learn test strategies prior to taking the official test, and the class includes a practice test at Ursuline. Fall 2025 HSPT Prep Class Dates

• Session 1 (Tuesdays): Sept. 16, 23, 30 and Oct. 7, 21
• Session 2 (Thursdays): Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 2, 9, 23

For students who took the Summer and Fall HSPT Prep Class, the HSPT Practice test will be given on Saturday, October 25th at 8:30am.

By Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, submit the Release of Records form to your current school authorizing your transcripts to be shared with Ursuline Academy. Ursuline must receive your school records no later than Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. You must also upload a signed copy of the Release of Records form to your admissions account checklist.

Log into your Admissions account and complete each section of the application checklist, including  all needed documentation (birth certificate and school records), and submit your student essay. Parents are also required to submit a personal statement within the Admissions Portal.  

All students who submit a complete application by the Dec. 7, 2025 deadline will be considered for merit scholarships. Applications are not considered complete until all steps in the checklist, including records submissions, are finished.

Applicants who take the HSPT on the official date of Nov. 22, 2025 and submit a complete application by the deadline of Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 will be considered for merit scholarships at Ursuline. No additional application is required. Students who qualify for a merit scholarship will be notified at the time of admission.

Complete the Candidate Interests, Current School Information ,and Household Information within the Admissions Portal.  A candidate essay and parent statement are also required.

You must electronically submit the following documents as part of your application:

• Release of Records Form (signed and additionally send to sending school by Nov. 1)
• Birth certificate
• Copy of IEP/504 accommodation plan (if applicable)
• Individual need documentation (if applicable)
• Additional candidate information (if applicable)

If you upload your completed Release of Records form to the Admissions Portal and turn it into your current school by early November, Ursuline should receive those records (test scores, transcripts) by early December. However, please check the status of your records in your admissions checklist and follow up with your school’s counseling department if Ursuline does not have your records. 

If you select Ursuline to receive your score when you register for the HSPT, your results will automatically be sent to us. If you do not select Ursuline Academy, you must contact the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to add Ursuline to your schools list.

Ursuline will consider the Candidate Essay as one element of your application. The Admissions Committee will look for thoughtful, well-written responses that reveal something about who you are. We want to get to know you!
