Admissions Events for Prospective Families

High School Placement Test (HSPT) Prep Class

All 8th graders applying to a Catholic high school in Cincinnati for the 2024-2025 school year must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT).

Prepare for the HSPT at Ursuline!

Course Options:

  • July 24-28, 8:30am - 10:00am
  • July 24-28, 10:00am - 11:30am
  • Fall after school class - Mondays: 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23 - 3:30 - 5:00pm
  • Fall after school class - Wednesdays: 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25 - 3:30 - 5:00pm

8th Grade Day

8th graders are invited to spend a fun day learning about all aspects of Ursuline from current UA students! Students will contribute to a service project, explore the school, participate in games, crafts, and activities led by UA students, and more. Lunch will be provided. 

Parents are invited to stay for a parent meeting to learn more about Ursuline and an overview of the admissions process from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.


Shadow Days

August - December 2023

8th Graders are invited to spend a day "shadowing" a current Ursuline student to find out what life as a Lion is all about!


Volleyball Grade School Night

Come cheer on the Lions! 5th - 8th graders receive free admission to Ursuline's home volleyball game and pizza and treats between matches, including a spirit wear raffle. Wear your grade school or UA spirit wear! The Varsity match against begins at 6:30pm. Grade school night treats will be available starting at 6:00pm, but feel free to come earlier if you would like to watch the Freshman game (4:30) or Junior Varsity game (5:30).


Information Session for Prospective Families

This event will be held in-person on Ursuline's campus with a virtual option for attending remotely.

Prospective parents and students in grades 5-8 are invited to join us for an information night to learn more about how Ursuline prepares young women for college and beyond by nurturing their souls, intellects, hearts, and imaginations. You'll hear from school leadership, admissions staff, faculty, and students on topics including:

  • academics and curriculum
  • the benefit of surrounding your daughter with girls who love to learn
  • our counseling department
  • community ministries: campus ministry, community service, and diversity & inclusion
  • clubs and student life
  • athletics
  • performing arts
  • the admissions process
  • and more!

Financial Aid Information Session for Prospective Families

This event will be held virtually.

Prospective parents are invited to join us for a virtual information session about how to fund an Ursuline education. Topics covered will include:

  • scholarship opportunities
  • applying for financial aid using the FACTS application
  • EdChoice
  • financial aid FAQs
  • and more!

The Case for All-Girls Education: Information Session for Prospective Families

This event will be held in-person on Ursuline's campus with a virtual option for attending remotely.

Parents and students in grades 5 - 8 are invited to learn more from Ursuline educators, administrators, students, and alumnae about the benefits of an all-girls education.

UA Saturday Event for Prospective Families

Join us for a fun and immersive day to learn more about Ursuline! All 7th and 8th Grade prospective students are welcome.

Prospective students will join Ursuline student leaders for small and large group activities including club and student life activities, mini Ursuline classes, a student panel, and more!

Lunch will be provided for all students.

The day will conclude with a prayer service from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to join for the prayer service.

Public School Information Night 

Join us to learn all about Ursuline Academy, specifically for families coming from public schools! We know the private high school search and application process can be overwhelming. At this event, you'll learn about the unique benefits of an Ursuline education, the application process and requirements, tuition and financial aid FAQs, and hear from families who made the transition from public schools to UA themselves. There will also be opportunities to tour the school after the presentation.

Open House

Ursuline’s Open House offers prospective students and their families an opportunity to see the school on a student-led tour, meet Ursuline faculty and staff, and explore all that Ursuline has to offer.

Families typically spend one to one and a half hours at the open house. 

Registration is encouraged, but not required. Register here to save a few minutes when you check-in on Open House Day.


Fall Musical Grade School Day

5th - 8th graders are invited to join us for Ursuline's fall musical! Come before the show for some fun activities, dessert, and the chance to meet members of the cast and crew and learn more about the Performing Arts at Ursuline.

5th - 8th grade girls receive free admission to the show. Additional tickets can be purchased at the door (adults - $10; students - $8). Please let us know on the registration form if you plan to purchase additional tickets so we can reserve seats for you.

Entrance Test: High School Placement Test (HSPT)

All 8th graders applying to a Catholic high school in Cincinnati for the 2022-2023 school year must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). 8th graders may take the test at any Catholic high school and have their scores sent to Ursuline.

Learn more about how the test is used and how to prepare for it.

Christmas Concert & Hot Cocoa Bar

Wednesday, December 7, 6:00 p.m. (Concert starts at 7:00 p.m.)

Prospective students in grades 5-8 and their parents are invited to join us for hot cocoa before Ursuline's Christmas Concert!

Lions Night Out for Prospective 8th Graders 

All current 8th graders who have applied to the Class of 2027 are invited to join us for a fun night out at Ursuline. Led by current UA students, girls will enjoy a pizza dinner and decorate your own cookies for dessert. A variety of activities will be available – a friendly game of volleyball, card games, bracelet making, and more. Choose just one activity – or do a few!  This is a great opportunity to connect with other future Lions!  Dress is casual. Come ready to have fun at Ursuline!

Reception for Accepted Students 

Wednesday, January 18, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. 

All 8th graders admitted to Ursuline's Class of 2027 and their families are invited to join us for a celebratory evening, which also includes the opportunity to ask final questions before making the high school decision.

Registration Day for the Class of 2027

Wednesday, January 25, 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

To officially enroll in Ursuline's Class of 2027, your daughter’s electronic enrollment contract must be signed and a non-refundable tuition deposit of $1,000 must be paid online on Wednesday, January 25. Parents can complete the enrollment contract as well as pay the tuition deposit online in the admissions portal that you used to apply to Ursuline.

Parents and newly enrolled students can stop by Ursuline’s Besl Theatre any time between 3:00 – 7:00 pm to pick up a Class of 2027 t-shirt and yard sign, take some photos, and enjoy some small treats and hot cocoa to celebrate the newly enrolled Class of 2027. The UA spirit wear store will also be open during this time. 


Spring Open House - Sunday, April 23, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Join us this spring for a new, individualized open house experience!

Take a mini class, participate in student life, hear from current families, and more.

The Spring Open House is for all prospective families - whether your daughter is a 5th, 6th, or 7th grader starting to explore high school options, an 8th grader who has not yet made a high school decision, or a potential transfer student, you are welcome!

Mother Daughter Paint Night - Thursday, May 11, 5:45 - 8:00 pm

All 6th and 7th grade girls and their Moms (or Mother figures) are invited to join us at Ursuline for a painting night just in time for Mother's Day!

One of our beloved Art Teachers, Ms. Kara Sheldon will be teaching you how to paint your own flowers in a vase using painting techniques and paper collage.

Join us for snacks before and come prepared to paint!

One canvas for each student, as this will be a project Mom and Daughter work on together!
