Academic Support Services

Academic excellence is the standard, and we provide the support to make it achievable. Our academic support services are designed to help you thrive in challenging classes. 

As an Ursuline Academy student, you’ll have the freedom to choose your classes and design a curriculum pathway tailored to your interests. 

Academic support starts with your peers  

The bonds of Ursuline sisterhood are so strong that our students want to support each other academically. At UA, we lift each other up and rise together. 

Your classmates will cheer for your accomplishments and lend a hand to help you do your best. You’ll have a network of upperclasswomen who are committed to your success, with groups that offer peer tutoring services, writing support, and executive skills coaching. 

Peer Tutoring

You can take advantage of peer tutoring for all returning classes at Ursuline. Peer tutors are student volunteers who have previously taken the course and can explain the course content to you in a different way than it is presented in class. Peer tutoring helps you get to know other students while gaining a better understanding of a specific subject area. This service is offered in addition to help from your teacher.

Writing Center

The Ursuline Writing Center is a one-on-one, student-led service that gives you extra support with your writing. You’ll meet with a peer for sessions to read, respond, discuss, and write, all designed to help you become your own best composers and editors.  

Plus, as you progress at Ursuline, you can apply to become an upperclasswoman peer writing mentor, gaining valuable leadership skills while growing your own editing abilities and helping your Ursuline sisters. 

Sisters for Success

Our students often juggle a robust course load plus sports, church, and other extracurricular activities. Learning to organize yourself for school is an important—but often overlooked—skill needed to achieve academic success. Sisters for Success is a new peer-led organization that can help you with executive functioning skills, such as organizing your school supplies efficiently, tracking assignments in an intuitive way, or navigating the platforms your teachers use for posting assignments. Your peer coaches can offer tips and strategies to help you develop an organizational system that works best for you. This program strengthens the bonds of sisterhood and equips every Lion to succeed! 

Being an Ursuline student has taught me to reach out for help when needed. At Ursuline, I take challenging courses, but my teachers are always willing to help if I am having trouble. I think that having the ability to connect with my teachers has helped me succeed academically and will prepare me well for college and beyond.Sophia s. '26

Student Accommodations 

Ursuline Academy provides support services to meet certain student accommodations. Two dedicated staff members ensure each girl receives the help she needs.

Social-Emotional Support 

At Ursuline, we believe in supporting the whole girl. That means that we care about your academic growth as well as your emotional and spiritual development. And when you to talk to need someone, we're here to listen.
