College Scholarships
The 132 members of the Class of 2025 earned more than $20 million in college scholarships.
National Merit Scholars
Ursuline students are consistently lauded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for earning high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Each year, about 1.3 million high school juniors from more than 21,000 high schools take the exam.
Commended Scholars. About 34,000 students nationally will earn this designation in September 2025. Ursuline had nine Commended Scholars in the Class of 2024 and four in the Class of 2025.
Semifinalists. More than 16,000 students — representing less than 1% of graduating seniors nationally — will earn this designation in September 2025. Typically about 200 students in the Cincinnati region are honored. Semifinalists are invited to apply for merit scholarship awards in the competition.
Finalists. About 95% of semifinalists nationally advance to finalist standing. Four young women in the Class of 2024 earned this honor.
Linda Vester Ivy League Scholarship
The Linda Vester Ivy League scholarship program, which was made possible through the generosity of Linda Vester Greenberg ‘83 and her husband Glenn Greenberg, awards generous scholarships (currently $40,000 per student per year) to Ursuline graduates for four years of undergraduate Ivy League study.
Two Class of 2025 graduates, Safa Ahmad and Maggie Michael, are the latest Ursuline alumnae to be supported with this substantial award.
This scholarship program was established in 2001 by Ms. Greenberg, a Fulbright Scholar and celebrated TV journalist, and her husband to encourage qualified Ursuline students to attend Ivy League colleges. The idea came from Ms. Greenberg’s experiences as a student at Ursuline Academy when she learned how financially prohibitive it was for qualified students to attend Ivy League colleges.
