    The Admissions Process

Ursuline has selective admissions which means that eighth grade students must take the high school placement test administered at the school in November. Because Ursuline is so challenging academically, the test is an important indicator of a student's potential for success within the Ursuline curriculum. You may register online or by calling the school office 513.791.5791.

Admission is based primarily on the student's test score, but also on seventh and eighth grade performance and elementary school standardized tests. After a period of time determined by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, students are then sent a letter stating that they are either accepted, not accepted or waitlisted. For every student who receives a letter of acceptance and complies with the registration date, there is a place in the class. Although waitlisted students are often accepted, registration at an alternative school is advisable.

About 25% of the student body is comprised of legacies. A legacy is a girl whose mother or sibling attended UA. Legacy students must pass the test but are afforded a slight advantage. This is one way to honor the special connection many of our alumnae feel for their alma mater.
