Nominated Actress to Perform in Benefit Concert on February 15th
Broadway Singer/Actress Pamela Myers will present a Benefit Concert
for the Ursuline Academy Performing Arts Department on February 15, 2008,
at the Cincinnati Art Museum. The 8:00 pm Starry Starry Night
concert in the intimate Fath Auditorium will feature Ms. Myers and a host
of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra members along with performances by
Ursuline Academy faculty, recent Ursuline alumnae, and the Ursuline
Academy Acapella Choir.
A Cincinnatian, Ms. Myers has performed in numerous Broadway shows
including the original cast of Company for which she was nominated
for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Ms. Myers will be joined by
nationally renowned pianist, Terry LaBolt.
The Broadway revival of Stephan Sondheim’s Into the Woods is
Ms. Myers’ most recent Broadway appearance. She has performed in regional
theater productions of Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, The Mystery of Edwin Drood,
and Harold and Maude. A frequent guest artist with the
Cincinnati Pops and the Boston Pops orchestras, Pamela Myers is a sought
after performer.
In 2003, Ms. Myers released a solo CD, The Chance to Sing, in
which she teams up with and is accompanied by esteemed composers such as
Stephen Schwartz and John Kander.
All proceeds from Starry Starry Night will benefit the
Ursuline Performing Arts Department, helping to fund master classes,
instrument acquisitions, performance tours, and the UA fall musical.
Tickets are available for the February 15th event by calling
the school at 791-5791, extension 1604. Tickets are $75 per person and
include the Concert and a Post-Concert Dessert Reception in the Great Hall
of the Museum. The event is sponsored by the Ursuline Academy Performing
Arts Boosters Association and will benefit the UA Performing Arts
Department which is under the direction of Carlton Monroe.
