Hands Across the Campus (HAC) is a national organization sponsored by
the American Jewish Committee that is open to every Ursuline student
. The purpose of HAC is to promote an understanding and appreciation
of all types of diversity. HAC works to empower members to
model individual leadership roles in all aspects of daily interaction with
others.
Dedicated to celebrating the differences among people in the school
community and the world at large, Hands Across the Campus teaches students
to respect and affirm the oneness of our common humanity. Within the
school community, "Hands" members participate in educational outreach in
order to raise awareness of our hidden biases, to confront them, and to
interrupt all forms of prejudice.
HAC members meet bi-monthly on Mondays to discuss issue and learn
conflict resolution techniques through a focus group
environment. Students can join at any time.
