 Fine Arts/Physical
Education
Fine Arts
In the art curriculum each student will develop her technical skills,
expand her visual vocabulary and express herself creatively. She will
learn to give visual form to her ideas and feelings by using a variety of
interesting materials (clay, enamels, charcoal, watercolors, acrylics,
etc.).
The student can choose those art courses that best suit her
needs and goals. Art works and portfolios are regularly displayed in
Ursuline’s Schildmeyer Gallery, the community, regionally and nationally.
Physical Education
A variety of team and individual sports are taught in the physical
education classes during the freshman and sophomore years. We believe that
movement is both pleasurable and necessary for day-to-day functioning. The
curriculum emphasizes the benefit of lifelong physical activities. Within
a two-year period the following recreational and athletic sports are
studied and practiced: archery, indoor lacrosse, step aerobics and
strength training, super circuit training, badminton, bowling, golf, field
hockey, flag football, ping pong, physical fitness testing, softball.
