Ursuline Women and the Law students with Justice Sharon Kennedy
Justice Sharon Kennedy of the Ohio State Supreme Court was the guest speaker on Wednesday, May 15 to the Women and the Law class at UA. The class, moderated by Social Studies teacher Mrs. Michele Walters, is composed of juniors and seniors, and its curriculum is based on the laws pertaining to equal protection of women throughout history and in the current day.
"Justice Kennedy graciously shared her story and her experiences as a former police officer, an attorney, a judge in Butler County, and now as an elected member of the Ohio State Supreme Court. It was an honor to have her spend time with the students," said Mrs. Walters, adding that she passed on three phrases for our students to remember:
- Decide and Commit to your dream
- Keep your sights on the target and your goals
- And have the fortitude to carry through!
